Learn
“Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” – Philippians 4:9
Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Psalm 25:4
Our Christian Education committee
offers a variety of opportunities that emphasize life-long learning for people of faith. The Presbyterian Church is part of the Reformed Tradition and is grounded in Presbyterian doctrine. We consider the Bible to be the unique and authoritative witness to Jesus Christ. Along with bible studies, our education opportunities provide experiences to strengthen our faith journeys and to help us to grow in Christ-like ways. Along with Sunday School classes, the committee designs other opportunities for faith development and learning at other times than Sunday mornings.
All are welcome to join us in learning more about God, the church, and our own faith. Check out the information about our:
Sunday School classes;
Movies with a Message;
seasonal learning opportunities during Lent and Advent.
Presbyterian Women’s monthly bible study;
special classes for older adults through our partnership with LifeQuest.
All of our classes are designed to provide fellowship and support as well as study. All are welcome to join any class or any study. We learn a great deal from each other and invite different perspectives and voices to be heard around our tables here at Grace.
Sunday School classes are provided each Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for all ages. Classes for children, youth, and one adult class are held in the Education Building. One adult class is held in the church library. Childcare is provided for children under two.

“Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” – Philippians 4:9

Movies can provide a warehouse of inspirational ideas, great stories and dialogue, along with messages to help us think about our lives. Members and friends of Grace Presbyterian Church gather several times a year to watch a movie together. We gather in the yellow classroom in the Education Building following worship on Sunday for a light lunch and to watch the movie. Questions to consider while watching the movie are given to participants beforehand. Recent movies have included: The Shack, While You Were Sleeping, and It Happened on Fifth Avenue.

Presbyterian Women’s Bible Study
Presbyterian Women is an independent organization within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) of more than 300,000 women. The programming and resource options for the organization offer a variety of ways for women to live out their faith in an inclusive, caring community.
PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN PURPOSE
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:
- to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
- to support the mission of the church worldwide,
- to work for justice and peace,
- and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
GET INVOLVED
Presbyterian Women study the Bible, get to know one another, provide hospitality and pastoral care, are involved in mission and stewardship, and develop leaders within our congregation.
MONTHLY GATHERINGS AND BIBLE STUDY
All women are invited to gather on the second Wednesday of each month for fellowship, worship, and Bible Study. This group gathers at 10:00 a.m. in the church Library. Our study guide is provided by Presbyterian Women. Study guides may be purchased in the church office. Leadership of the study rotates among the participants. Those who are able go to a nearby restaurant for lunch following the study.
FELLOWSHIP OF THE LEAST COIN
Participants worldwide offer "least coins" in their local currency alongside prayers for justice. It is important that only the “least coin” of each currency be set aside so that even the poorest women of each country can be a part of this fellowship of love and care. Grant recipients are selected by the International Committee of the Fellowship of the Least Coin. More information can be found at: http://www.flc.net.ph/flc_grants_guidelines.html
Policy:
It is the policy of Grace Presbyterian church that parents who entrust their children into our care may do so with the full confidence that they will not be harmed through neglect or intent. To this end we institute the following policies for our youth and child care volunteers.
Unless otherwise approved by the session, no one who has been a member of Grace Presbyterian Church for less then 6 months or is under the age of 18 may be the “lead” adult in any youth or children’s programs. They may serve as an assistant to the child care and youth staff worker or volunteer.
- Any evidence of child abuse, neglect or criminal activity with a child during a church sponsored activity must be reported to local law enforcement.
- No child care or youth worker or volunteer will be alone with a child (except with the child’s parent). The “rule-of-two” should be applied when working with both children and youth. Sunday school classes may have one teacher in the classroom however the classroom door must remain open. The “rule-of two” or the “open door” policy will be followed by children and youth worker and volunteers at all times.
